Lead the client development, oversaw server development and supported the art-tech pipeline.

I worked mostly on optimization, bug fixes and creating multiple “kiosk” versions of the game for showroom demos and store demos.

A mobile castle defense game. Developed most of the core game systems and gameplay – it was a pretty exciting and interesting learning experience. The most complex single problem here was developing a pathfinding solution with dynamic avoidance for agents with varying clearance size. Other cool features include scriptable enemy behaviors and AI director which handles level generation and progression (although not in the most elegant manner – learning experience as I mentioned!)

Top Smash Tennis is a motion controlled tennis game for devices running Windows 8. Using XTR3Ds solution which provides skeletal tracking using normal 2D cameras, the game is playable on any compatible PC with just a regular webcam.
I supported the integration of the tracking middleware and the addition of Windows 8 features.

Super Collapse II For Smart TVs

This project involved writing from scratch the game using JavaScript and a subset of HTML5 for the game to run on TransGaming’s platform which is delivered to multiple SmartTV OSes.
The only reference was a functional design document and the C source files from an older set top box version of the game 🙂

A difficult game for the sake of being difficult with the theme of “Small World”.
Amazing art by Oded Bengigi, awesome design by Hen Matshulski, music by the talented Alon Kaplan and production work by Tzahi Wolkowicz

GGJ16 – Late To Work Simulator 2016

A “Twitch Plays” experience. LTWS16 is a collection of mini games controlled by Twitch chat.
The most important thing we learned with this project was that Twitch has insane latency even under the most optimal settings, making reflex based gameplay pretty useless. The only scenario in which this type of gameplay is possible is when there are so many players and inputs that it is not possible to make a connection between the input and the result action thus masking the latency.

GGJ15 – Voices In My Head

A democratic rogue-like dungeon crawler. Multiple players control the same character by voting on actions. This game was developed while both me and Elad were sick and with fever during the entire duration of the game jam. In the end, we managed to run a session with tens of concurrent players and surprisingly everything worked!
